TWO MORE!!

As many of you know, when we went to pick up our little Mercy, we traveled to Woliso to visit with Simon Derara’s (and Mercy’s) biological family. We met the other siblings and God really pulled on our heart strings. We knew on the drive to meet the family that our lives were about to change. With Shane and Shane on my ipod and tears on my cheeks we drove to the dusty village to meet, what I knew then and was recently confirmed, our children.
Sunday the 22nd while dropping off our children for the children’s service we ran into a family who also adopted from Ethiopia. We told them about the children and our attempts to have them placed so we could proceed to adopt them. The Mom told me that her agency, Celebrate Children International, has an orphanage in Woliso. I emailed the country rep the next day and she left for Ethiopia on Tuesday the 24th. Friday the 27th we received word that the eldest, Biruk 17, was signing the children over to the orphanage. We are so excited. We are blessed beyond measure. Two more children to love, to teach, to guide. Selamawit is 14ish and Guta 12 ish. We have no clear time line, but because of the age of the children we are going to push this as fast as we can. Please be in prayer that we can raise the funds we need to bring these kids home. Our desire is to take our whole family with us this time. Simon D and Beniam need some closure. We’d like Simon D to get to say goodbye to his Grandma and Grandpa and a host of other relatives that we met. We’d like to drive the 8 hours to Beniam’s home village and let him remember. We’d like to all the kids to once more feel the African soil beneath their feet and kiss the cheeks of the elderly.
My guess is we need about 50,000.00$ Seems impossible. But I know that “Thru Christ ALL things are possible.” Not some things. Not 1,000 dollar things but even 50,000$ things. Join with us in prayer as we do what it takes to give two more children a Mom and a Dad.

I love your heart's desire to bless these kids with such an amazing FULL CIRCLE experience. I will definitely join you in praying for this!
kinda makes you wish the process of international adoption was a whole lot different on the FRONT end, though - huh? *sigh*
